Hair Care Gift Guide

Happy Thursday!  We apologize that this guide has to go up for the second time.  For some reason, our post disappeared with all our updated content in regards to our hair care gift guide and gifts for him due to a server error.  We hope you enjoy our picks for the hair lovers in your life.

The HOLIDAYS Dynamic Duo

The first up on our gift pick is the Dynamic Brush Duo by Hotheads.  This duo set is a great practical gift containing a full-size paddle brush that is multi-use.  It’s great for detangling hair, wet or dry, and blow drying. The paddle brush, if used correctly, can be great for improving circulation and removing build-up and dirt.

You will also receive a mini-sized brush that is perfect for on-the-go in your purse or gym bag.  I carry it with me everywhere, especially when traveling.  The little brush does everything the full-size does, plus it’s great for batt combing for extra lift.

This gift is perfect as a stocking stuffer or a gift under the tree.  It comes pre-wrapped in a pretty organza bag.

Nourishing Moisture Masque and Oil Treatment Duo

Macadamia professional has curated a mini stocking stuffer set that is perfect for anyone with medium to coarse hair.  In this duo, you get a moisture mask and hair oil.  These are two of my favorite products because they work perfectly for someone who has coarse hair.

  • Nourishing Moisture Masque 8 oz
  • Nourishing Moisture Oil Treatment 4.2 oz

This perfect duo gives medium to coarse hair ultra-hydration from root to ends, leaving hair detangled, silky, and frizz-free. The combination of the masque and the oil treatment provides the ultimate repairing, reconstructing, and hydrating treatment the hair needs. It boosts hair health, shine, and elasticity.

Another great thing about this duo is that it comes with a pretty bag, so no need to wrap!  I am totally all about products, I do not have to wrap, lol.  Unfortunately, I was not able to locate this gift set on anymore.  However, you might still be able to get it in store.

Revlon Essentials

Another great stocking stuffer for any woman, teen girl, or girl is hair ties. Some of my favorites are the hair coils.  It gives a little bit of a twist to the everyday hair tie.  If you have thick hair like I do, then these hair ties are perfect for keeping the look.  They are great for ponytails and buns.  The best part is they will not leave creases in your hair like normal hair ties do.

You can locate them at Walmart, Target, or any drugstore location.  They are under $5 making them really affordable.

We have provided some practical gifting and stocking stuffer ideas with a little luxury.  All these items are affordable and are easily accessible so whether you get your shopping done ahead of time or last minute- you will be all set.

Rootie the Rootlifter Review

Hi, loves! Long time no see, right? My apologies for being gone the past couple weeks. I was super busy being a taekwondo mom and basically living at the dojang. My youngest daughter, Jasmyn, was preparing for her final tournament for 2017. Hard work and dedication paid off, my baby won first place! Now that all that is out of the way, we are back to business and gearing up for our holiday season. But first, today I wanted to share a review on Rootie the Rootlifter.

The Deets

Rootie the Rootlifter was made by Voloom, the world’s first hair volumizing hair tool.  Voloom wanted to provide a way to get volume without having to tease your hair or use tons of product.

The Rootie does look like a straightener but does not function like one.  It mimics a crimper in a way to lift the under a layer of your hair and provide instant volume.

It’s easy to use with a power button and a way to turn up the heat or to turn it down.  With a temperature of 300 degrees, I would suggest at least going down to 200 degrees, while using a heat protectant.  I wanted to show how well this product worked, so I utilized my youngest daughters, straight/fine hair.

The picture on the left is a natural way her hair lays and on the right-it shows using the root lifter adding a little bit of volume to the top of her head.  I know it isn’t a huge difference, but it is subjective to how much volume you would want.  Keep in mind, I was simply testing this hot tool out and just wanted a basic idea of how the product used/worked.

The pictures above show how I used the product.  I sectioned off her hair to “crimp/volumnize.  Starting at the root, I crimped the area right at the root and moved little ways down to create a nice underlayer.    I can’t believe how well it worked.  My two girls were like, “whoa”.   I can’t wait to attempt some volumized ponytails with the Rootie because it said it would work well.  I hope you all enjoyed this review on the Rootie.  If you pick one up, I’d love to hear your thoughts in the comments down below.

Dry Shampoo Tips & Tricks

Happy Friday, beauties!  I’m a busy mother, student, blogger, and full-time worker and what that means is, yes, I do not wash my hair every day!  Thanks to a beautiful invention called dry shampoo, I am able to skip a day or two.  Not only does it absorb the oil, it adds a clean fresh smell, but it also adds life back to those locks with a little bit of volume.

My Favorite Dry Shampoo

The dry shampoo I always reach for and keep on hand is Batiste.  You can find it at about any drugstore from Target to Walgreens.  Another location I have found it at is Marshalls and TJ Maxx.  It’s reasonably priced at $5.99 at most locations and the best thing about it are the different fragrances and colors.  Yes, colors!  I don’t think it has much powder residue, but I love that you can match it to your hair color if needed.

The best way that I have found to use dry shampoo is to apply it to your hair before bed.  Do not distribute the product by brushing it out or running your fingers through your hair.  I spray the product right before bed, leaving the product untouched–yes, you will look a little goofy going to sleep, so warn your spouse!  While asleep the tossing and turning you do will distribute the product for you.  Bam!!  You can literally say, “I woke up like this!”, when you told how amazing your hair looks!

Extra Uses
  • In a pinch and need an odor boost- use your dry shampoo as a replacement for deodorant.
  • Deodorizer for shoes
  • Use dry shampoo to take care of oil stains.

Well, I hope you all enjoyed these tios & tricks using dry shampoo.
